Double Feature: Two Watchlists, One Movie Night
Picking a film together should take less time than watching it. Double Feature compares two IMDb watchlists and helps two people find something they both feel like watching tonight.
Start With What You Already Want to See
Paste two public IMDb watchlist or list URLs. Double Feature reads the titles through IMDb’s web GraphQL API, follows the pages, and compares exact IMDb title IDs. New profile links and older user links are supported. CSV exports offer a fallback for private lists or unavailable imports.
The overlap becomes a browsable collection of films, with search and sorting by title, year, or rating. Paste both watchlist URLs and find your shared films with one click.
Swipe Separately. Decide Together.
Create a movie-night room from your shared titles and send its invite link to your movie person. The room has two seats. Each person swipes right to watch or left to pass, using touch, buttons, or arrow keys.
Individual choices stay private. A film appears in your mutual picks only when both people say yes. The room updates automatically, and refreshing the page resumes your place on the same browser.
A Small App With a Shared Backend
The interface is built with React and TypeScript. A Node.js service stores rooms and votes in SQLite on Lucido’s server. Rooms expire after 24 hours, expired data is removed automatically, and unguessable invite links keep room discovery out of the public interface.
The app does not ask for an IMDb password. Public watchlist requests go from the server to IMDb; CSV files are parsed in your browser. Creating a room saves the overlapping titles and each participant’s votes for that session.
Built Around One Simple Decision
Double Feature keeps the focus on the moment between choosing and watching: bring two lists, find their overlap, and discover the films you both want tonight.
IMDb’s web API is separate from its subscription data API and may change or limit requests. Double Feature is not affiliated with IMDb.
